St. Albert Curling ClubThe St. Albert Curling Club was founded in 1949. Since it's inception, the Club has undergone many changes. In 1998, the construction of a new building housing six sheets of ice was completed. In 2005, a new concrete floor was installed which will enhance the ice surface and permit more uses for the facilty. The facility extends to our members a top-notch venue for both recreational and competitive curling.
The total membership of the St. Albert Curling Club is estimated at 800. The Club traditionally runs three ladies' leagues on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday evening and Friday morning. There are four men's leagues on Monday and Tuesday evenings and four Mixed Leagues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. There are Beginners' and Intermediate Leagues on Saturday afternoon. There is a very active Seniors Program running draws on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The St. Albert Curling Club also boasts an excellent Junior Program. The Junior Program runs Tuesdays after school. There is a draw of Little Rocks and Super Rocks on Sunday afternoons. Curling offers recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities. At the beginning of each season, the St. Albert Curling Club offers Curl Canada instruction. This affords the beginner a chance to learn the latest techniques from trained instructors. Throughout the year, the concession and lounge areas provide a social setting where curlers meet and friendships grow. |
